This course is fun and challenging! It's one of the most rewarding PADI courses and our personal favourite to teach here at Watercolours. You will build your confidence, skills and knowledge by learning to look after your own and other diver's safety. You will develop greater awareness of what is happening around you both before, during and after diving.
Rescue Scenarios
What will I do?
Rescue Diver training will prepare you to prevent problems and, if necessary, manage dive emergencies. During the five open water sessions you will cover:
Self-rescue and diver stress
AED and emergency oxygen delivery systems
Dive first aid
Swimming and non-swimming rescue techniques
Emergency management and equipment
Panicked diver response
Underwater problems
Missing diver procedures
Surfacing an unconscious diver
In-water rescue breathing protocols
Egress (exits)
First aid procedures for pressure related accidents
Dive accident scenarios
How many people will be on my course?
We teach our courses with a maximum of 4 students per instructor! That’s right! No large class sizes here. We believe small class sizes for more personal tuition makes you a better diver.
How long does it take?
We teach the PADI Rescue Diver Course over a four day period. It is an important and involved course and therefore difficult to finish in less time. We believe that diving instruction should be clear and comprehensive and that pushing a diving programme through quickly often results in an inferior course.

What do I need to start?
You need to have already obtained a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver qualification (or a equivalent certification by another organisation) to participate in the full Rescue Diver programme.
You should be a minimum age of 15 years old (12 for the PADI Junior Rescue Diver) and must have completed a recognised CPR training course like the PADI Emergency First Response course within the last 24 months.
When do your courses run?
Please contact us to make a booking. This is particularly advisable during peak season.
Where can I go from here?
Go Pro! Become a PADI Divemaster. Alternatively, if you fancy doing something different then why not look at helping the environment by undertaking a Reef Check Eco-Diver Course.
What does it cost?
The Rescue Diver Course costs RM 1050, which includes instruction manual, equipment rental and certification.
